Registration for access to BNF for Children text

BNFC.org was launched in June 2005 and from summer 2005 has provided access to the complete text of the BNF for Children. The content of this website is mirrored at http://www.bnfc.nhs.uk1. Visitors are required to register with us in order to see the BNF for Children text. Access to all other areas of these websites is unrestricted and does not require registration.

Why we require registration

The publishers of the BNF for Children offer the entire content of the latest edition on this website because it:

  • supports NHS personnel who require access to a digital version of the BNFC for point-of-care decisions
  • supports healthcare professionals who require access to high quality information as part of their professional development, at times when they are away from their usual source of BNFC advice
  • serves as a reliable reference resource for organisations and individuals unable to afford an up to date BNFC
  • demonstrates that its advice can be conveyed digitally, using standard web technology, to the benefit of the healthcare professional and the patient

However, visitors to BNFC.org are not entitled to download a significant amount of material from the site for personal use, nor is it permitted to download material for re-publication or use in commercial offerings. These are infringements of our copyright and Terms of Use.

We hope that one-time registration and logging in at each visit will encourage visitors without direct access to use the information appropriately and encourage regular users to obtain a version of the BNF for Children that is best suited to their needs. Registration will also provide the publishers with a little more information about who is using this resource; this will inform the development of BNFC.org.
